Terms & Conditions
Last updated August 26, 2026

By creating an account or staking a claim on stars.watch, you agree to these terms.

What a "claim" is

stars.watch is an advertising placement, not a wager — there is no prize, payout, or element of chance. Staking a star pays to display your brand's logo and name next to that star on the map for as long as you hold the highest stake. A claim is not ownership of the star, any astronomical object, or any trademark or naming right — it's a display placement on this website only. Anyone can take over your claim at any time by staking a higher amount, per the minimum-increment schedule shown on the site.

Accounts

Staking a claim requires a brand account with a real website name, contact name, email, and logo. Accounts are for real businesses/projects, not anonymous placements. We may remove logos or claims that violate our content moderation rules (no illegal, hateful, or misleading content).

Claim expiry

Some claims are subject to a decay period, after which they expire and the star returns to unclaimed status if not renewed. Any expiry date that applies to your claim is shown at the time you place it.

Payments

All amounts are shown and charged in USD. Payment is processed by our third-party payment processor. See our Refund Policy for how being out-staked and refunds work.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time; continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
